Useful Information
Stow Horse Fair
Stow Horse Fair is held twice yearly, on Thursdays closest to 12th May and closest to 24th October.
The Charter for the Fair at Stow-on-the-Wold was granted in 1476. The fair has now evolved into an event frequented by Gypsies and travelling people who trade between themselves and with the public. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair. Some shops, pubs and restaurants close for a few days though good pubs and restaurants are to be found in local surrounding villages. On the whole, we find that visitors are not bothered by the event but some would prefer to visit at another time.
