Introduction

The Guide to the Accessibility at Swingletree can be found at Visit England Accessibility Guides Org

Swingletree is a single-storey detached cottage.

Pre-Arrival

  • Our website has links to local travel services.
  • Our travel directions always include the office telephone number and a mobile telephone number in case guests need any assistance on their journey or help on arrival.
  • Swingletree is less than ½ mile by footpath from Stow-on-the-Wold and about 1 mile by car to the town centre.
  • We are happy to collect guests from Moreton Station (4 miles) or to meet them off a bus in Stow-on-the-Wold.
  • If given a list of items to obtain before guests arrive, we are pleased to get some provisions in readiness.
  • Tesco and Ocado deliver locally.

On Arrival

Visitors are given precise directions to reach their cottage. We endeavour to greet them shortly after their arrival but in cases of arrival very late at night, we greet guests within 24 hours of arrival.

Holiday Cottages

  • There is ample car parking for residents at the cottage.
  • There is level access from the car parking area to the cottage. The ground surface consists of medium to fine gravel.
  • Wheelchair access is possible to all cottages though it is recommended that wheelchair guests are accompanied.
  • The areas around the cottages are well lit.
  • There is a threshold of 12cm at the door leading into the cottage, but otherwise there are no internal steps or stairs. The internal floor is level throughout the cottage.
  • The living room and bedroom have wood floors with occasional rugs.
  • The kitchen and bathroom have ceramic tiled floors.
  • There is good access to the bed.
  • The bathroom comprises a walk-in shower with an upstand of 25cm and separate bath.
  • Kitchen work surface is of standard 90 cm height.
  • The access between the hall and kitchen is 60cm - this is the narrowest point within the cottage.
  • Assistance dogs are welcomed and there are good facilities for allowing them exercise.

Grounds and Garden

  • Swingletree has its own patio area and lawn area securely fenced with one gate to the parking area and another to the adjoining paddock.
  • There is one step between the area in front of the French door leading to the patio/lawn area.
