The Cotswolds AONB is a place of immense diversity; rolling landscapes picturesque valleys, villages and pastures, ancient beech woodlands, rare flora, limestone grasslands, pre-historic hill forts, manor houses and cottages. There are many sets of route descriptions and accompanying maps for walking routes in the Cotswolds. Some will be available, on-line from the Cotswolds AONB website, at local bookshops and tourist information centres. Park Farm Holiday Cottages are within a mile of the Monarch's Way, the Heart of England Way and the Gloucestershire Way. Website : www.cotswoldsaonb.org.uk Escape to the Cotswolds (8 miles) This Discovery Centre for the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is housed in the Old Prison in Northleach. Visitors to the Centre can learn about the geology, history, landscape, wildlife and outdoor recreation, including the Cotswold Way National Trail. Younger visitors will also be able to learn about the history of the Cotswolds landscape through an interactive video game entitled 'Quantum Sheep and the Wonderful Wolds'. 'Escape to the Cotswolds' is open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Wednesdays to Sundays (including Bank Holidays) April to October. Admission is free of charge. Website : www.cotswoldsaobn.org.uk
