Holiday Information
Our visitors are truly spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink. We have good local pubs offering local ales, cider and traditional food, served with the comfort of a cosy log fire in winter or perhaps near to the village green or secluded garden in summer. Within five miles, we have gastro pubs that have built up their reputations for excellence throughout the county. Stow-on-the-Wold is very well served with welcoming coffee houses and tearooms and, if our visitors prefer a night in, we have some great local take-aways. Pubs in Stow-on-the-Wold Bell Inn (1/2 mile) This is 'our local', which offers good pub food, real ale from the local Hook Norton Brewery and excellent cider.
Eagle and Child (less than 1 mile) Website : www.theroyalisthotel.com The Eagle and Child pub is attached to the Royalist Hotel and offers an enticing selection of traditional pub food, served either in the pub itself, or its large conservatory.
The Talbot (less than 1 mile) Website : www.thetalbot.net The Talbot specialises in homemade dishes using fresh ingredients. Their blackboard includes fresh fish and other daily specials.
Queens Head (less than 1 mile) Telephone : 01451 830563 This 17th Century stone building has been licensed since 1630 and is a good example of a small Cotswold town pub. It serves ale from the local Donnington Brewery.

The White Hart Inn (less than1 mile) Website : www.whitehartstow.com The White Hart is a boutique style inn which has been recently refurbished. It offers good food and lots of open fires.
Pubs outside Stow but within walking distance The Fox Inn (less than 2 miles) The Fox is a family friendly pub offering traditional pub food and real ale from the local Donnington Brewery. With a large beer garden and village green opposite this pub has a perfect setting.

The Swan Inn (12 miles) Website : www.theswanswinbrook.co.uk Swinbrook was home to the legendary Mitford sisters and the pub is still owned by Deborah, The Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, the last surviving Mitford sister. The business is run together with the King's Head in Bledington and the restaurant similarly offers a seasonal menu with an emphasis on fresh, organic and local ingredients.
